Best 5 Credit Card Offers Of 2021

The Covid-19 pandemic drastically altered how we spend our money. Americans started putting an emphasis on spending for the home as opposed to vacations as the latter is mostly off the table for now. With all the data we acquired from 2020, it is time to revisit which credit cards will continue to give us the best return. With that said, below are the 5 best credit cards out there based on our current spending habits.

1. American Express Blue Cash Preferred – This cards position remains unchanged on my list. It is simply just built for these current times. To recap it offers 6% cash back at U.S. supermarkets, 3% cash back at gas stations, and 3% cash back on transit. There is a $95 annual fee but that can be easily covered by the $250 statement credit you will receive for spending $1,000 in the first 3 months. You will need a credit score of 690 to be eligible for this card.

2. Wells Fargo Propel American Express Card – This card has broken into the list and jumped to number two. It is a strong card that offers rewards for travel and activities close to home with no annual fee. So if you’d like to take one trip in 2021 this is a good card to have. It offers 3x points on dining, gas, transit, streaming services, and travel booking (hotels, car rentals, etc.). There is also no foreign transaction fee. You should shoot for a 670 credit score before applying for this card.

3. Chase Freedom Unlimited – This Chase card also remains unchanged on the list at number three. You can earn 3% cash back on dining which includes takeout, 3% cash back at drug stores and 1.5% cash back on all other purchases. You will need at least a credit score of 690 to be eligible for this card.

4. Citi Double Cash Card – This card is moving up to number four on the list. It is a simple yet solid card that will earn you 2% cash back on every purchase. Your cash back can be redeemed for direct deposit or a statement credit and like the cards above you will need a good credit score to qualify.

5. Petal 2 Visa Card – Another card that is making its’ debut on the list. The Petal 2 is a good card if you are a person who would like to start establishing credit. To establish eligibility Petal will analyze your transaction history, earnings, and past bill payments. It starts out at 1% cash back but increases to 1.5% cash back after making twelve on time payments. That is great because it encourages good spending behavior.

Like I’ve stated previously, no matter which card you go with you will get a good return and it is important to use credit responsibly. Is there any card you think I should have included in the list? Please share it in the comments below.
